Harris weathers tough weekend with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Being 12th in series points, Clay Harris made the long haul to Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway on Saturday afternoon to join the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the $15,000-to-win Indiana Icebreaker.
Harris dealt with mechanical issues that prevented him from recording a qualifying lap and forced him to start dead last in his heat race. Despite making up six spots in his heat, Clay still found himself in a B-Main where he was battling for a Top-5 when another competitor made contact and sent him spinning which ended his night early.
Looking for better luck at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) on Sunday, Clay was once again relegated to a B-Main where he would finish just a few spots out of transferring to the A-Main.
