Clay Harris competes in Showdown on the Coast at Golden Isles

Getting a tuneup for the $100,000-to-win event next weekend, Clay Harris unloaded his No. 6 Crate Late Model at Golden Isles Speedway (Waynesville, Ga.) on Friday afternoon for the Showdown on the Coast.

With a strong 42-car field in the pit area, Harris qualified eighth-quickest in his group before grabbing the final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting 15th in the $20,000-to-win main event on Saturday, Clay made his way inside the Top-10 before he was caught up in a wreck that ended his night.
